After a long day of driving this place was perfect for an overnight stay. While Artesia didn't strike me as a very interesting town, I was grateful for the hospitality and comfort of the Heritage Inn. The owner gave us the biggest room (bright, clean, stylish) at a discount. It was the only place in a two-week roadtrip which actually lived up to its promise of serving a proper continental breakfast.

Thanks to Sue and her wonderful staff...our entire stay in Artesia was great. The museum, art gallery, wonderful Italian restaurant, the sculptures, and the kitchen shop and antique store.
